The Sensational Alex Harvey Experience is the UK’s no 1 tribute to SAHB. The Band has been touring extensively over the past few years and 2017 has seen them go from strangth to strength. At the end of 2016 the Band played prestigious gigs at the O2 ABC in Glasgow and the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh to enthusiastic crowds.

2017 will be rounded off by a first appearance at Backstage at the Green Hotel in Kinross. You can expect to hear all of the best-known SAHB songs and a few surprises and rarities thrown in as well! The Band embraces all of the theatrics of the original band and will pay homage to the legendary SAHB Xmas shows with this special gig in Kinross. The band has been described by Zal Cleminson himself as “the best SAHB tribute band by far”.

The band is touring England next year so this will be a last chance to catch them for some time. Also, in an interesting twist 3 members of the Band have also recently joined Zal Cleminson’s new band ‘Sin Dogs’ who had their debut gig at Backstage at the Green Hotel.

This gig will get you into the Christmas spirit, and remind you why SAHB are regarded by many as the best rock band ever to come out of Scotland, bar none.

You can expect to hear faithful recreations of favourite songs from the back catalogue from albums like Next, Framed, The Impossible Dream and Tomorrow Belongs to Me. The stage show will also not disappoint!

Vocals – Andy Massie

Guitar – Willie McGonagle

Keys – David Cowan

Drums – John MacAvoy

All members of the band are experienced musicians who look forward to putting on a real show in Kinross on 16 December.

Andy Fairweather Low came to prominence as the lead singer in Amen Corner. The 60s saw them clock up hit after pop hit. Songs such as ‘Bend Me Shape Me’, ‘Hello Suzy’, ‘( If Paradise is ) Half As Nice’ are internationally remembered to this day. But if you were paying close attention you might have picked up a clue in the magnificent ‘Gin House’ to Andy’s future musical collaborations.

Since the early days Andy has gone on to work with Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, David Crosby, The Band, Elton John, Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour, The Who, BB King, Joe Cocker, Steve Winwood, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Joe Satriani, the Bee Gees, Jeff Beck, The Impressions, Lonnie Donegan, Mary J. Blige, Georgie Fame, Bonnie Raitt, Otis Rush, Van Morrison, Chris Barber, Jackson Browne, Bill Wyman, Sheryl Crow, Pete Townshend… and hundreds more.

Now following a solo path, his first solo album in 24 years Sweet Soulful Music was released late in 2007 followed by The Very Best Of Andy Fairweather Low which was released in the UK in June 2008 and the Live DVD followed hot on it’s heels.
In fact Andy has been touring and releasing CD Albums since then and is building a strong following having now released four CD Albums, One Live DVD and a Three disc Box Set DVD / Double Live CD which debuted in the Amazon Box Set Top 50 in it’s very first week of release.

2013 saw Andy & The band opening the shows on Eric’s European tour headline The Americana Festival and complete their first tour in Japan with 8 shows in Tokyo.and their UK Autumn 2013 tour in support of the Zone O Tone was so well received that further early Spring dates in 2014 were added in the UK and Germany.

2014 started with the band on Bob Harris’ rock show playing in session and continued with two UK tours, Festival appearances, a second tour of Japan and further German touring and a landmark appearance at Bluesfest held at The Royal Albert Hall which was broadcast lvie on Paul Jones Radio 2 Blues show and the next night they played a show at The New Theatre in Cardiff which was both filmed and recorded and was released as a DVD / Double live CD in Autumn 2015.

2015 itself was a year of consolidation as it started with an appearance in January at Celtic Connections Festival, contained two long UK tours, two tours of Germany, another Japan stint, a tour of Ireland and several UK summer festivals and one in Estonia but many people will remember that in May 2015 Andy and the band were the opening act for Eric Clapton’s 70th Birthday tour starting at Madison Square Garden, NYC and ending with a run of seven shows at The Royal Albert Hall.
A remarkable band, a remarkable front man.

THE VELVETS – An introduction

Shunned in the 1960s for their avante-garde shocking rock THE VELVET UNDERGROUND were more important to music’s future than the fab four.

Name just about any left of centre band or artist since the 70’s (Sex Pistols, Joy Division, Sonic Youth, Galaxie 500, Spiritualized, Nick Cave, P.J. Harvey) and a bunch that became mainstream giants

(David Bowie, REM, U2, Talking Heads) and they all acknowledge a deep debt to THE VELVET UNDERGOUND.

Greg Kot 2014 – Music critic – Chicago Tribune

2017 sees the 50th anniversary of their first album release, the iconic ‘The Velvet Underground and Nico’. New British outfit, THE VELVETS perform a selection of songs from that album, alongside tracks that cover the whole of the group’s catalogue from 1967-1970.

THE VELVETS are a group of talented multi-instrumentalists who re-create the VU soundscape and add their own unique lustre finish. Not so much a ‘tribute’ act but more a celebration of one of the most  and important  bands in the history of rock music.

Live Dead 69 Play Kinross For Mundell Music

Live Dead 69 come to Kinross in 2018 for Mundell Music

Live Dead 69 play Backstage at the Green Hotel Kinross on Thursday 8th February 2018 at 8.00pm for Mundell Music.

Tickets £35. Buy Tickets HERE.

Marin County, CA (Sept. 21, 2017) — LIVE DEAD ‘69 have announced engagements for their triumphant UK return, following their debut in Jan. of this year. The All-Star, legacy ensemble, are set to expand their concept and repertoire for their 2018 tour.  Their seven winter shows last February have assumed a certain mythology amongst UK Deadheads … the finale at London’s much regarded Under The Bridge concert venue was sold out and video of the performance has been widely circulated on the web. And, a recent U.S. performance has played all this week on “The Grateful Dead Hour” syndicated radio show.

Comprised of:

Tom Constanten, original Grateful Dead pianist, who played all the keyboards on the original “Live Dead” recording, inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and was essential to Grateful Dead’s first 2 ambitious/ experimental studio recordings “Anthem of The Sun” and “Aoxomoxoa.” Mark Karan, lead guitarist with Bob Weir’s Rat Dog and The Other Ones, Slick Aguilar who played lead guitar in Jefferson Starship & KBC for 26 years and with David Crosby Band before that; UK drummer Richard Newman who just recorded Robert Plant’s new single, recently toured with Paul Rodgers, also played in Jefferson Starship, Rory Gallagher, Deb Bonham and many others; and, UK multi-instrumentalist Tony Morley, also of Jefferson Starship – round out the line-up. All are fan favorites, especially in the UK.

Live Dead ‘69 shall perform the first 2 live Grateful Dead albums (“Live Dead recorded in 1969, and “Skull & Roses” in 1971) in their entirety, with assorted other selections and truckload of improvisation. Their unique familiarity with Grateful Dead’s halcyon material implies an improvisational prowess that shall be on full display.
